P3 enjoys all the fun of the fair at Ripley's Spring Festival

P3's mobile advice service 'Clive' was out offering advice and support to the people of Ripley at their Spring Festival and Well Dressing.

The unmistakable blue and pink livery of the vintage camper van known as 'Clive' (which stands for consult, listen, involve, value and expertise) ensured that everyone spotted P3’s Mobile Support and Advice Workers, Alison Bloor and Dave Illsley. The pair spent the day offering support to both visitors and people from the local community who came along to enjoy this annual event.

Alison stated: "It was a really productive day and the event gave us the perfect opportunity to talk to people from the Amber Valley area.

"Clive always draws a crowd! That makes it so much easier for us to ensure that our services are known within the local area and accessible to all.

“There are always some familiar faces at an event like this, such as former clients who like to come and chat, but there are also people in the community who want to know more about us and our services, especially if they need support with an issue that is affecting their life.

“We're used to people looking and sometimes coming back a number of times, as it can take a great deal of courage for someone to share their concerns with us."

Dave agreed adding: "Crucially the work we do really does enable us to get a better understanding of the problems people are facing within their own communities and how P3 can help.

"Simply by showcasing P3 and Amber Trust's services or by taking the time to listen and signpost people to the support they need, we do make a real difference."

Amber Trust also had a stall at the event showcasing the many therapeutic benefits of its Nature and Wellbeing Hub, as well as a plant sale.

Amber Trust’s Community Development Coordinator Tracy Litchfield said: “I want to thank our team of dedicated volunteers who ensured the day was a great success. Together we were able to talk with residents about how we use nature to nurture good health and happiness at the hub, and encourage more people to come along and join in to experience the benefits first hand!”

P3 has a number of mobile resource vehicles that travel around the country, offering support and advice services in town centres and to rural communities where residents may otherwise be unable to get the help they need.
