P3 Launches New Housing Related Support Service in Rotherham
In partnership with Rotherham Council, P3 Charity has extended its national reach to Rotherham by launching a new Housing Related Support Service on Monday 2nd December 2024.
The service will be able to provide support for up to 60 households staying in emergency accommodation across the borough of Rotherham. People accessing this service will receive tailored support from a dedicated P3 support worker for a period of six weeks to navigate the complexities that their housing situation may present.
P3 staff are trained to support with the root cause of current or potential homelessness as well as direct housing-related needs. This includes support with mental health, substance misuse, and existing debt as well as creating a community that is inclusive of cultural and religious needs.
Since 1972, P3 has operated a wide range of services designed to empower people facing various challenges, from homelessness, financial difficulties and health concerns. The organisation’s holistic approach addresses immediate needs whilst focusing on long-term solutions for independence.
The unique approach adopted by P3 enables each individual to recognise their own potential. Focusing on talents and abilities, as well as providing an access point to support networks to achieve sustainable, independent living.
Gemma Bukel, Deputy Chief Executive at P3, said: “We are thrilled to be working in Rotherham to support people who are going through tough times. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centred support, helping individuals overcome challenges and build brighter futures. We are excited to be part of the Rotherham community and to continue making a positive impact in people’s lives.”
Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr Sarah Allen said: “Rotherham Council is committed to helping people live safe, happy and healthy lives. Tackling homelessness and ending rough sleeping in Rotherham is a priority for the Council and requires strong partnerships and engagement with a variety of organisations and so I’m delighted we’re funding this critical work.”
P3 is looking forward to embarking on this new partnership with Rotherham council to ensure that people at risk of homelessness have access to safe accommodation and strive to ensure those who need it can become more settled long-term.
