UFA Closure
P3 Charity has made the difficult decision for the University of the First Age (UFA) to exit the delivery of the government’s National Citizen Service (NCS) programme and close.
The 2021 programme, due to be delivered in partnership with Ingeus, Reed and EFL Trust will now be passed back to the three organisations on 1 April 2021.
Sadly, we have concluded the new approach to NCS commissioning poses a considerable risk.
The decision was made after a thorough assessment of the risks associated with the lower contracted number of places for young people and the revised unit prices, as well as the significant financial risk posed by the contractual changes to funding.
Staff and young people’s safety would not be able to be adequately resourced and managed within the new contractual framework.
We are now managing the TUPE transfer of staff over to Ingeus, Reed and EFL Trust and supporting people through this transition.
