Rugby Portobello Trust celebrity lockdown quiz
Celebrity quizmasters Ian Hislop, Daisy Goodwin and Jenni Russell are set to co-host an online quiz to fundraise for P3’s Rugby Portobello Trust (RPT).
The ‘lockdown quiz’ is being held to raise essential funds to help RPT to continue to deliver its educational programmes and support for children and young people in North Kensington community, and will kick-off on Thursday 18 June, 8pm when Ian Hislop will welcome everyone to the family-friendly general knowledge quiz.
TV legend Ian Hislop will act as quiz master leading participants through a fast-paced topical and satirical Q&A on current political affairs, Daisy Goodwin will test everyone’s literary knowledge, and Jenni Russell will test people’s knowledge of tabloid and broadsheet press and trivia.
Ian Hislop said: “I’m so excited to be hosting RPT’s Lockdown Quiz. It will be fun for all the family, and raise much needed funds for RPT. So please come along, donate what you can and enjoy the quiz.”
P3 CEO Mark Simms said: “We have been supporting people in the North Kensington community since 1884, helping the most vulnerable children and young people to reach their potential through arts, sport, music, mentoring and so much more. Now we need your donations to keep our services running and continue to transform the lives of people who depend on the opportunities RPT delivers.
“We hope this quiz will provide some light relief for people when they need it the most and also offer a way to come together virtually to support RPT and the people and families they continue to support through this crisis.”
RPT relies on donations from the local community and events for 85 per cent of its funding. Events account for 50 per cent of this fundraised income and due to Covid-19, all of the Trust’s 2020 events have been postponed, downsized or cancelled, leaving a fundraising deficit of £200,000.
