Enabling people to work towards and
sustain independent living in Wolverhampton

What we do

Peter Bilson House in Wolverhampton has been developed to meet the need for a bridge to support people with the transition from supported accommodation into an independent tenancy.

Here, we enable people to grow their independence while having the reassurance that arms-length support is available as and when it is needed. Peter Bilson House offers a home for up to two years for people leaving supported accommodation or for people who do not require ongoing daily support. Affordable rents mean that the service can be suitable for people who are employed as well as those claiming benefits.

The long-term units of accommodation provide a stable environment where people are equipped to take the next step to move-on into a suitable, comfortable and affordable tenancy in the community. Our team work to ensure people feel settled while being fully involved in the creation of a move on plan that is tailored to their needs and sets out goals to be achieved.

Support will be tailored to you, and may include:

  • Maintaining your tenancy
  • Budgeting and managing debt
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Accessing other services, such as support for substance misuse or mental ill-health
  • Accessing employment, education or training
  • Connecting with social/family/community networks

We can offer support if:

  • You are aged 18 or over.
  • You have a recent history of homelessness, being vulnerably housed or living in supported accommodation.

  • You are preparing to live independently, and require minimal support before this can be achieved.

  • You have access to public funding and are eligible for UK benefits.

  • You live in Wolverhampton.
