Calderdale Floating Support

Supporting people to keep their home or find somewhere stable to live.

What we do

The Calderdale Floating Support service provides support for people to maintain their tenancy, prevent homelessness and reduce social isolation for 6-12 months, depending on personal need.

Support provided includes:

  • Preventing homelessness and supporting retaining current housing where possible.
  • Supporting people to sustain their tenancy, preventing tenancy breakdown.
  • Developing independent living skills.
  • Reducing social isolation through community engagement and maintaining personal relationships.
  • Working in partnership with specialist services

This tailored support package is centred around your circumstances to achieve positive life outcomes including:

  • Maintaining somewhere safe and settled to call home.
  • Access to education, employment or training.
  • Improved physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Reduced social isolation.

With links to local organisations including housing options, social care, mental health teams and drug/alcohol services, we can connect you with the specialised support you need.

We can help if you are

  • Aged 25 and over (including single people, childless couples and families).
  • A Calderdale resident who is homeless, at risk of homelessness or in housing need.

How we can help

Our support is person-centred and strengths-based with a recovery focus, meaning we will support you in the best way for you and your personal circumstances. • Mediating with family.
  • Claiming welfare benefits.
  • Setting up utility bills.
  • Referring to specialist services.
  • Signposting to education, employment and training.
