Chester Leaving Care Service

For young people aged 16-18 who have been looked after by the local authority and are leaving care.

What we do

Our service helps young people from Chester and Cheshire West who are leaving care with the transition from care to independence.

Who we support

You may benefit from this service if you:

  • Are from Chester and Cheshire West
  • Are aged 16-18
  • Have been looked after by the local authority and are now ready to leave care services
  • Need support to live independently

How we can help

We provide a variety of opportunities for each young person we work with, tailored to their specific needs and personal goals and ambitions.

We will support the young person to enhance their personal and social development, grow their decision-making skills, join in with leisure activities and hobbies, partake in sports in their community, learn to cook good healthy meals on a budget, manage their finances, and support them to develop the skills needed for dealing with many day-to-day tasks that they may encounter in the future.

For young people who are slightly older and have finished school, we can also provide support to obtain or sustain employment or further education/training, in a qualification or apprenticeship that they are interested in and are motivated to pursue.

The support we provide is all geared towards giving them the skills they need to become independent and live fulfilling, meaningful and happy lives in their community.
